"A look from Psychoanalysis on current issues" is the name of this year's cycle of conferences organised by the Seminar of the Freudian Field in San Sebastian. Within this framework, the conference given by Araceli Teixidó gave an account of how satisfaction and the drive to enjoy, which organise current lives, coexist with a lack of desire, depression and anguish. So what does satisfaction depend on, what does desire depend on, and why does anguish emerge? The paradoxes of the imperative of happiness that dominates contemporary times are analysed here.
