n 7th of January 2022, the Naples Secretariat of the Scuola Lacaniana di Psicoanalisi organised a video conference entitled "Woman does not exist, so long live femininity". Marie-Hélène Brousse poses the challenge for psychoanalysis to sustain itself in a world where the biological advances creates an alliance with the discourse of science and tries to explain psychic processes by eliminating the speaking body, separating jouissance from the effect of the word on the body. Moreover, it shows how the trans movement insists on ignoring the fact that jouissance is not linked to gender and that the transformation of identity does not touch or resolve the question of jouissance.
