On the occasion of the visit of Araceli Teixidó and Patrick Monribot to San Sebastián, they were interviewed by Onintza Orbegozo on psychoanalysis and contemporary issues. The conversations addressed the ideological attack on psychoanalysis taking place in France, the connection between positivism and the pharmaceutical industry, psychoanalysis’s response to the contemporary imperative of immediacy, and the prevalence of the oral object as a bulimic mode within today’s culture. Together, these questions situate the present moment of psychoanalysis and its wagers.
