Interview granted by Valéria Ferranti Baptista and Ana Tereza Groisman to Radio Lacan Brasil. Both are members of the Deliberative Council of the Escola Brasileira de Psicanálise (EBP). They revisit, in this conversation, the work developed by the Council of the EBP throughout 2025 around the theme “Supervision Imposes Itself in the School: from necessity to the desire for supervision,” reflecting on the singular place that supervision occupies in the analyst's training/formation and in the institutional life of the School. The three questions guiding the interview with Valéria Ferranti seek to interrogate this path: in what way supervision can relaunch the analyst's desire and their commitment to the analytic cause; how it stands as a transmission device rather than a regulation device when inscribed in the institutional field; and to what extent it keeps alive the question about what an analyst is, their authorization, and their responsibility in the policy of the School. Regarding Ana Tereza Groisman, she reflected on her path through her trajectory as a supervisee and also as a supervisor, highlighting points such as the desire for supervision, moving past the series, and the practice of psychoanalysis without standards, but not without principles. Ana Tereza brings a lively conversation full of fundamental points to understand the importance of control/supervision in the analyst's practice.
