5 Online Meetings of the SLP on the Theme of "Analytic Practice and its Lacanian Orientation" - Fourth Meeting: "The Function of Time in the Analytical Session".
On 13th of September 2020, the Scuola Lacaniana di Psicoanalisi (SLP) organised an online conference on Zoom platform, this being the fourth meeting of the “The Analytic Practice and its Lacanian Orientation" series entitled "The Function of Time in the Analytical Session". The president of the SLP, Loretta Biondi, begins with a brief introduction, then follows an introduction by Miquel Bassols and finally the intervention of Arzente, AE, who states: "There is chronological time, logical time and time of the symptom. Of each one of us, where space and time meet to produce a place, the place of the analytic session". Finally, Maurizio Mazzotti leads us in a broad development of the function of time in Freud and Lacan and reiterates the differences between the post-Freudians and Lacan. He states: "the moment to conclude is a decision of the analyst and also his or her responsibility, its risk. (...) The analysand and the analyst are in the same space, but they are not in the same time". While Miquel Bassols in his conclusions says: "In the Lacanian session the conclusion is first and foremost, and then the construction, which is always the construction of the analysand. The conclusion is of the order of the act".
