Psychoanalysis and Knowledge

Zygmunt Bauman is Emeritus Professor of Sociology at the Universities of Leeds and Warsaw. He is a reference in the current socio-political debate; his latest work is "Liquid culture in the world of modernity". Gustavo Dessal is a psychoanalyst and writer, Member AME (Analyst member of the School) of the ELP and the WAP. He is a teacher of the Nucep. The return of the pendulum is presented as a dialogue on the intersection between sociology and psychoanalysis, taking as starting point the figure of Sigmund Freud. A conversation, through the exchange of texts and emails that goes beyond exploring the similarities between the two aforementioned branches of knowledge, and is an example of production that the dialogue between disciplines can be, to analyze and understand a multifaceted reality. In short, a book that somehow follows the hesitant pace of debate, and which invites us to reflect in an incessant manner, about the society in which we live in. Esperanza Molleda is a psychoanalyst, member of the ELP in Madrid and the WAP. She is the Director of BOL. Candela Dessal has a degree in Philosophy and master's degree in Democracy and Governance by the UAM. She is co-author of the book "How to live. About good life". Jaime Szpilka is a psychiatrist, Doctor in medicine from the UB, and former Vice President of the Psychoanalytic Association of Madrid. He is the author of numerous works on psychoanalysis such as "Believing in the unconscious". Submitted by Olga Montón, Member of the ELP and the WAP and collaborator for Radio Lacan in Spain.
