"Contemporary Music and Psychoanalysis"
On April 2nd 2016, on the occasion of the special issue of the Journal of the ECF "The Cause of Desire", the Contemporary Music Festival in Clermont Ferrand: "Music without Restraint", hosted a conversation between psychoanalysts and musicians under the title "Music and Psychoanalysis". Our colleagues, Serge Cottet and Jean Robert Rabanel, psychoanalysts of the ECF, were invited as guest speakers to converse with the musicians, Christophe Desjardins (violist), Jean Pierre Derrien (radio producer) and Marco Stroppa (composer). Marie Faucher (France Musique) and our colleague Valentine Dechambre participated in this event. Valentine Dechambre was also co‐organizer of this edition of the Clemont Ferrand Festival. The conversation was preceded by a tribute to Pierre Boulez and, in this regard, some extracts of "Messagesquisse" were performed by Christophe Desjardins (with the participation of Claire Saillard’s viola class of the CRR of Clermont Ferrand) and "Twelve Notations" by Pierre Courthiade. Radio Lacan would like to thank Valentine Dechambre for recording this event.
