On November 1st 2017, the Observatory on Violence and Women in Latin America was presented at the EOL. The members of the Observatory reported on the status of their work. They conducted a tour in three stages: Legislation and Regulations in the Argentine Republic, Psychoanalytic Concepts for a Reflection on the Subject, and The Effective Exercise of the Regulations and their Symptoms. As phenomena that stand out in this field, we emphasize the presence of feminist thought, in all aspects considered, problems involved with the application of current regulations, the place of man in this field that constitutes him a priori as "violent", and the woman as the "victim". Using psychoanalysis we will interrogate all these phenomena and symptoms that relate to this field called gender violence.
